Group/Centre Activities
Going to group programs is an inviting and highly social way to learn and develop skills, meet new individuals and keep associated with the community. Exercises are created according to participant’s interest and incorporate an expansive scope of physical activities such as gym, recreational centre, dance and combative techniques; workmanship and art classes; day and night trips, and more. Properly structured, group activities can strengthen aptitudes that are applicable to both group and individual work, including the ability to:
  • Challenge assumptions
  • Plan and manage time
  • Give and receive feedback on performance
  • Break complex tasks into parts and steps
  • Develop stronger communication skills.
  • Refine understanding through discussion and explanation
Community Support Pty Ltd ensures to assist participants to participate in group based community, social and recreational activities.
Daily Personal Activities
Community Support Pty Ltd will assist or manage personal tasks of daily life to enable the participant to live as autonomously as possible. These supports are provided on an individual basis and can be provided in a range of environments as well as to the participants own residence. Community Support Pty Ltd provides a “live carer model” of support. This implies that a person lives in the house of or travels with the participant and delivers assistance with and/or supervision of, personal tasks of daily life. This support may also consist of overnight on-call assistance:
  • Assistance with mobility and exercise
  • Accompanying to recreational and social outings
  • Assistance with showering, dressing and grooming
  • Continence Care
  • Prevention of pressure sores
  • Transporting to medical and dental appointments
Household tasks
NDIS participants can choose Community Support Pty Ltd to help with household tasks and any jobs they struggle with such as cleaning, dusting, mopping and washing. Community Support Pty Ltd staffs are well trained cleaning professionals and are available to clean your home on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis at a time that suits you. We will match our staff to your needs. Some of the services we provide include:
  • Dusting and cobweb removal
  • Gardening & handyman jobs
  • Home cleaning service
  • Laundry
  • Professional carpet cleaning
  • Regular mowing
  • Tidying the yard
  • Vacuuming and mopping floors
  • Window cleaning
  • Any other approved services
Participate Community
A community’s members are a rich source of knowledge about their community and of liveliness and obligation to that community. Community participation opens the way for community members— including youth—to act responsibly. Community Support Pty Ltd support participants to take part actively in community, social and civic activities. This includes supporting participants during these activities, and developing participants’ ability to partake in these activities. Includes:
  • Community and social activities
  • Group-based activities in a centre
  • Group-based community activities
Meal Preparation
This support item is for assistance with the cost of the preparation and delivery of food to participants who are unable to do this for themselves, and are not in receipt of other supports that would meet the same need. The cost of the food itself is not covered by the NDIS.
Community Nursing Care
These Disability-Related Health Supports provide nursing care to respond to the disability- related health needs of a participant where that care is not the usual responsibility of the health system. They provide nursing care to respond to the disability-related health needs of a participant where that care is not the usual responsibility of the health system. They have been temporarily duplicated into the Assistance with Daily Life Support Category so that participants can have greater access to these supports if they need them.
Domestic Assistance
This support item assists a participant to undertake or develop skills to maintain their home environment where the participant owns their own home or has sole or substantial responsibility for its maintenance. Includes assisting participant to do basic house and yard work.
High Intensity Daily Personal Activities
These support items provide a participant who requires High Intensity Supports to provide assistance with, or supervision of, personal tasks of daily life to develop the skills of the participant to live as autonomously as possible in circumstances where a more skilled or experienced support worker is required.
Shared Living/Supported Independent Living (SIL)
These support items provide assistance with, or supervision of, tasks of daily life in a shared living environment, with a focus on developing the skills of each individual to live as autonomously as possible. The support is provided to each person living in the shared arrangement in accordance with their need. Support Independent Living does not include rent, board and lodging or other day- to-day usual living expenses such as food and activities. It also does not include the capital costs associated with a participant’s accommodation.
Development of Life Skills
This support item provides individual life skills development and training including public transport training and support, developing skills for community, social and recreational participation. It also provides training for participants in groups to increase their independence in daily personal activities.
Innovative Community Participation
This support item is designed to enable providers to offer new and innovative services to participant and is for mainstream providers who want to enable participants to access mainstream activities. Any standards applicable to the industry in which the provider operates would need to be met. All supports claimed under this support item need to be reasonable and necessary given the participant’s plan goals.
Travel/Transport
ommunity Support Pty Ltd offers participants and their carers transport to hospitals, doctors’ appointments, social visits and shopping using our staff’s fully insured and safe automobiles. Travel enables participants to access the community for educational, recreational, employment and vocational purposes. Participating individuals receive funds fortnightly in advance to pay for services of their choice. Transportation support includes: Assist that help independent travel by the parent and child including training and support to use public transport and transport-related equipment and aids (e.g. mobility aids such as wheelchairs and some scooters). Transitional plan arrangements is also included for the reasonable and necessary cost of taxis or other private transport for with disabilities who are not able to travel independently due to their disability.
